Meet the Doctors
Dr. Gregory Fluharty, D.V.M., P.A.
Dr. Gregory Fluharty
Dr. Fluharty is the owner and founder of The Animal Clinic, which was started in 1979. Dr. Fluharty is originally from Ohio and received his DVM degree from Ohio State University. Dr. Fluharty is very active in the community but mostly spends his time on finding ways to improve the quality of medicine within our facility. He is a true believer of moving his cheese, which in turn keeps his staff striving to learn and keeping his clients up to date on the cutting edge of medicine. He truly believes that it takes a team to achieve a high level of competency and works hard to keep the community Veterinary Emergency Hospital up to high standards. On his off time he enjoys some golfing and spending time with his family and is enjoying being a first time grandfather to Olivia Rae.


Dr. Cynthia Fiore
Dr. Cynthia FioreDr. Cynthia Fiore was born and raised in Harrison, New York. She moved to Boston for her higher education and graduated from Boston College and went on to earn her degree from Tufts University of Veterinary Medicine. After finishing her Medicine Internship she practiced as an emergency veterinarian in Wakefield, MA. She met her husband in Boston and they decided to leave the big city and to move to Port Charlotte, Fl., where she joined The Animal Clinic in May of 1990. Dr. Fiore and her husband stay busy raising their two daughters along with their menageries of animals, which include dogs, cats, birds, lizards, turtles and goats. Dr. Fiore enjoys treating all animals and has a special interest in ultra sound and soft tissue surgery. Along with her Veterinary and motherly duties she finds time to volunteer her services as the Medical Director of our local Peace River Wildlife Center. Dr. Fiore encourages wildlife awareness as well as keeping the community aware of the activities of the Peace River Wildlife Center in contributing to some articles, which are printed in the Charlotte Sun newspaper. Dr. Fiore is also an avid sports fan and a fan of whatever her children are involved in at the time.


Dr. Debbie Marks
Dr. Debbie Marks Dr. Debbie Marks graduated Magna cum laude and class vala dictorian from the University of the Philippines in 2002. She has then served as the national veterinarian for the Republic of Palau for one year. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and has volunteered her time over the last two years abroad with Remote Access Veterinary Services (University of Tennessee). Her special interests include wellness and geriatric care, internal medicine and infectious disease. Dr. Marks and her husband Steve, an attorney has been married for 16 years. Their children include Spencer who is attending Carol College in Helena, Montana, Sandy, a mixed breed dog from the Philippines, and Keu a sulfur crested cockatoo from Palau. Dr. Marks and Her husband decided to relocate to southwest Florida after visiting and falling in love with the people and the climate.
